Visual Identity
The Lost Garden is a reimagining of the iconic Rainforest Cafe, reviving the magic, mystery, and sensory wonder that once made it unforgettable. With an identity that remained unchanged since its founding and a cult following of loyal fans, this brand refresh required careful consideration around how to create a fresh experience that still honored the original restaurant's essence. Guided by the concept "Reclaiming Lost Wonder" the new identity blends lush illustrations and copy that delivers a sense of adventure and enchantment to create a novel yet nostalgic experience.

The Challenge
The Rainforest Cafe had reached peak popularity in the early 2000s, but as ownership shifted and immersive features were stripped back over time, the restaurant became a shadow of the experience people remembered. The challenge was not just to refresh visuals but to rebuild a sense of wonder through design, storytelling, and atmosphere, creating a place where families could reconnect with one another through shared wonder and play.

The Idea
The concept for the rebrand, “Reclaiming Lost Wonder,” was inspired by the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, an ancient wonder whose existence is still debated. This mirrored the original Rainforest Cafe: a lush, surreal environment that felt almost too magical to be real. The new identity leans into this blend of myth and memory, inviting guests on a journey of rediscovery. It celebrates mystery, nature, and adventure, rekindling the sense of awe that once defined the Rainforest Cafe, and imagining what that magic could look like today.
